Welcome to the Irish Impact Blog!
We are very excited to be blogging about social entrepreneurship at Notre Dame. Irish Impact is the social entrepreneurship initiative of the Gigot Center for Entrepreneurship at The University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business.
The history of social innovation at Notre Dame runs deep starting with our founder Father Sorin and continuing with President Father Theodore “Ted” Hesburgh, the Center for Social Concerns (CSC), the Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE), The Gigot Center, the Masters in Nonprofit Administration (MNA), the Engineering, Science, and Technology Entrepreneurship Excellence Masters (ESTEEM) Program and other programs across the university.
Last year, the Gigot Center and Fellow Irish Social Hub (FISH) hosted the first Irish Impact Social Entrepreneurship Conference. The conference was attended by hundreds of students, alumni, social entrepreneurs, and social investors from around the country. This year, we will be hosting the conference on October 2 – 4 (REGISTER HERE) to discuss social entrepreneurship issues and trends, investigate better ways to fund and measure social impact, and hear lessons learned from social entrepreneurs building and growing their organizations.
But Irish Impact is not just a conference. It is a hub and resource for all social innovators and entrepreneurs. We will be blogging about best-in-class social entrepreneurs, social innovations, highlighting social entrepreneurs at Notre Dame, and sharing other news and information related to the field of social innovation.
So follow this blog, LIKE us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter, and join our Irish Impact group on LinkedIn. And please send us any news on social entrepreneurship that you would like us to share to irishimpactnd (at) gmail (dot) com.
Welcome and don’t forget to REGISTER FOR IRISH IMPACT 2013.
